Goutam Ghose (Anglicization of Ghosh) was born in 1950 in Faridpur, the same hometown of
Mrinal Sen . He graduated in economics, became reporters, and then deal with animation and directing at several theater groups. Ghose is one of the few Indian filmmakers to have a certain reputation in the West, many of his films have been selected or rewarded in fact, important festivals, such as: Berlin, Cannes, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Sydney and Venice. He is also a rather known author in Italy, so that the first European retrospective of his work was presented at the Naples Film Festival
